Baosteel Stainless
in China has cut its ferro-chrome purchase price for September delivery, in
line with current market conditions.
The company is now offering 7,250 yuan ($1,143) per tonne
for the material, including delivery, compared with 7,550 yuan per tonne in
August.
The price is for all-cash payments to suppliers. Baosteel is
the first of China’s three major stainless steel producers to announce its
September price. Market participants are still waiting for prices from Taigang
Stainless and Jiuquan Steel.
