Pakistan: Thermal coal imports plunge by 59% m-o-m in Jan’25

In Jan’25, Pakistan’s thermal coal imports saw a significant decline of 59% to 0.31 mnt from 0.75 mnt in Dec’24. Y-o-y, imports fell by 65% compared to 0.89 mnt in Jan’24. Mozambique emerged as the top supplier, contributing 0.1 mnt, up from 0.06 mnt in Dec’24. Indonesia followed with 0.06 mnt, a sharp decrease of 78% m-o-m, while the US supplied 0.055 mnt.
