Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang decreased by INR 300/t d-o-d on 3 Feb’25. According to BigMint, HMS (80:20) prices are at INR 33,400/t ($383/t) ex-yard. Following a period of limited trade in semi-finished and finished steel, prices in the region witnessed a decrease. Just about average trade activity in scrap has further influenced market sentiment, prompting suppliers to reduce offers today.
