India: Vedanta to invest INR 1 lakh crore in Odisha alumina refinery

Vedanta has signed a INR 1 lakh crore MoU with the Odisha government to set up a 6 mnt per annum alumina refinery and 3 mnt aluminium smelter in Rayagada, with the first phase expected in three years. This builds on prior investments in Jharsuguda and Lanjigarh, strengthening Odisha’s role in the global aluminium supply chain.
