Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 200/t d-o-d on 29 Jan’25, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 33,700/t ($389/t) exy. The hike comes as semi-finished and finished steel prices in the region increased by approximately INR 300/t in yesterday’s trading session. Active inquiries for scrap further encouraged suppliers to raise their offers today.
