Indian Ferro Alloys Export Market has improved slightly in
the beginning of September as European buyers are back to the market. However Indian offers appear to be less competitive as compared to offers from South Africa & Ukraine.
According to a top official from a major manufacturer for
manganese alloys in Durgapur, “Enquiries from European buyers are seen in
bigger quantities say 2000-3000MT but South African & Ukrainian suppliers
are having a competitive edge over Indian suppliers. They are offering SiMn
65/16 at around EUR 910-920/MT. Whereas, Indian suppliers cannot offer below
$1000/MT owing to higher production cost”.
According to another top official from a major exporting
company in India, “European buyers are back but they want to procure at lower prices.
Indian suppliers are not in a state of cutting prices further as it is not all
viable. So, we expect to get more clarity after 20th September”.
“Current offers for SiMn 65/16 lies at $1050-1080 FOB India
and offers for FeMn 75% lies at $1020-1030/MT FOB India”, he added further.
