China: Steel billet prices edge up by RMB 10/t (1/t) ahead of Lunar New Year holidays

Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan inched up by RMB 10/t ($1/t) to RMB 3,090/t ($426/t) on 27 Jan’25 as against 24 Jan. Prices include 13% VAT.
Higher raw material prices, stable finished steel tags, and increased restocking activity before the Lunar New Year supported billet offers.
SHFE rebar futures (May’25 delivery) remained largely stable at RMB 3,373/t ($465/t) on 27 Jan’25 as against 24 Jan.
