World crude steel production rises y-o-y in Dec’24: WSA

The World Steel Association (WSA) revealed that crude steel production of the 71 countries that report to it went up by 5.6% y-o-y to 144.5 mnt in Dec’24. However, production volumes fell by 2% m-o-m against 146.8 mnt in Nov’24.

• China’s output increased by 11.8% y-o-y to 76 mnt.
• India’s production rose by 9.5% y-o-y to 13.6 mnt.
• Japan’s production dropped by 1.1% y-o-y to 6.9 mnt.
