Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, remained stable d-o-d on 24 Jan’25. According to BigMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 33,500/t ($388/t) ex-yard. Yesterday, the region saw average trade activity for both semi-finished and finished steel, coupled with moderate buying interest for scrap from Bhavnagar-based IF steel mills. Consequently, scrap suppliers opted to maintain steady prices today.
