“Indian Billet exports offer at $600-610 cif Chittagong, Bangladesh is comparatively expensive as
compared to offers from other countries such as Taiwan and Korea”, reported
market traders based in Bangladesh.
“Billet export prices from
India are higher than what we are buying from Korean and other south east Asian
companies at around $580-590/t cfr Chittagong, Bangladesh.
If an Indian
company can ensure quality product at competitive price, Bangladesh will prove
to be one of the largest exports market for India.
Also, shipping from India
will give us a competitive advantage in terms of shipping cost and ultimately
help us to make higher offers as compared to companies in other countries”, said
Mr. Md Yousuf from a trading company based in Bangladesh.
