CIS: Pig Iron Offers failed to sustain at High Levels

Pig iron producers based in the CIS failed to maintain prices, which had been raised only a week back.

Current offers have dropped by USD 5/MT to USD 380/MT FoB Black Sea, which was quoted in the range of USD 385-400/MT.

Pig iron prices came down owing to downtrend in Chinese spot Iron ore prices by USD 3/MT to USD 135 and as buyers of Scrap and other raw materials based in Turkey made limit purchases.

For October shipment, Italian Pig iron is being traded at prices lower to USD 410/MT CFR ex-Mariupol.

Freight charges for the same stands at USD 25-27/MT for shipment of 10,000 tonnes of the material.
