India’s portside prices of South African thermal coal declined by around INR 100/t this week. RB2 (5500 NAR) dropped to INR 9,250/t, while RB3 (4800 NAR) stood at INR 7,750/t, both ex-Gangavaram. The market was subdued, as frequent auctions by CIL from its different subsidiaries, coupled with increased port stock levels, contributed to persistent oversupply and weak demand.
