Turkiye: Imported ferrous scrap prices spurt on rising steel demand

Turkish mills are buying imported scrap at higher prices on anticipated surge in steel demand.

• Two West Marmara mills booked an EU-origin bulk cargo at $342-345/t for HMS (80:20).
• A mill in the Aegean region secured two bulk HMS (80:20) cargoes, one from the Baltic region and another from Sweden, at $347/t. Another mill from the same region was heard to have booked German cargo at $344/t.
