Indian steel ministry extends BIS registrations for Re-bars and Wire till 31-Mar'13

In an amended order issued by Indian steel ministry on 11th Sep regarding quality control and standards for steel states that high strength deformed re-bars and wires have been given an extension of 6 months.

In previous order ministry made it mandatory for Indian steel makers and importers to register with BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) in order to maintain quality.

Indian manufacturers report that it is not practical to follow quality structure mentioned in standard norms as raw material available is not of that quality.

Big question arises , Is government trying to favor big steel manufacturers or are we actually serious on maintaining quality products?
