Newcastle port, Australia's leading coal exporting port has reported that their shipment of last week ended on 9 September, 2013 dropped by 30.3% as compared to preceding week which ended on 2 September, 2013 as per report. During the week ended on 9 September, 2013, port had shipped around 2.3 MnT of coal and a total of 2.8 MnT coal had been shipped to different destinations.
Port has forecasted to ship around 12.2 MnT of coal including coking and thermal coal during month of September, 2013. Whereas, according to the port's authority, actual shipping for September, plus projected balance from coal terminal would ship around 11.9 MnT of coal in the same month itself.
The port has also reported that during the week ended on 9 September, 2013, 29 vessels entered at port for loading with an average waiting time of 8.75 days. Whereas, during the preceding week around 40 vessels entered the port with an average waiting time of around 7.34 days.
At the week ended on 9 September, 2013, 8 vessels were loading coal, 7 vessels were waiting to load and 41 vessels were expected to reach at the port.
