CIL (Coal India Ltd) hosted a road show in Raipur Chhattisgarh today, to bring more clarity on upcoming coal linkage auction among sponge manufacture.
Coal India Ltd, one of the largest coal producer in the country conducted a road show on 14 May’16 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Objective is to create attentiveness on upcoming Coal Linkage Auction process for Non-regulated sectors (Steel, Cement, CPP). To fulfil the requirement of non-power sector the ministry had decided to provide Coal Linkage through auction which will begin on 31 May’16 with a transparent online bidding mechanism.
On today’s road show ,Sponge Manufacturer in the region has raised few query and suggested solutions to bring more transparency in linkage auction:
- On the session, Chhattisgarh Sponge Iron Manufacturing Association (CGSIMA) have demanded to fix the linkage base price similar to power sector. Suggesting power sector also sell power in open market to earn profit.
- They have also asked normative coal quantity should be calculated as per coal block auction methodology.
CIL has assured to provide transparency, and will soon upload FAQ page to answer the queries of Industry.
