Weak demand from Iron ore exporters and piling up stock at mines, Odisha miners are forced to sell iron fines at a discounted price reported local sources in Barbil Odisha.
“Movement of iron fines have almost stopped in last 6-8 months on negligible demand from iron ore exporters.Miners have also cut their production in recent times. 63% Fe fines is being sold at around Rs 1,900-2,050/t, some miners are also giving discounts on bulk booking.” said a local iron ore trader based in Odisha.
Though demand has improved from pellet manufacturers and big steel makers like JSW and Essar. But it is not good enough to match the export quantity, he further added.
