Indian Billet Market Almost Stable, Merely Down INR 100-200/MT D-o-D

Today, billet prices in domestic market have almost remained stable, with mere price corrections of INR 100-200/MT D-o-D. However, Chennai market only reported a sharp fall of INR 400/MT on account of limited trade and increase in inventory.

Current offers are heard from sources to be in the range of INR 21,300-25,500/MT for 125*125 mm size billet.

Trade dynamics

1. A billet maker in West Bengal sold material at INR 22,300-22,400/MT in local market and INR 23,000-23,200/MT on FoR basis.
2. Vaksh Steels based in Hyderabad sold billet at INR 23,000/MT ex-plant.
3. A billet manufacturer in Rourkela is heard to sell material to Bhiwadi (Alwar) and Ghaziabad at INR 21,000-21,100/MT; freight from Rourkela to Bhiwadi is INR 2,450/MT and to Ghaziabad is INR 2,500/MT.
