World crude steel production edges up y-o-y in Oct’24: WSA

The World Steel Association (WSA) has revealed that crude steel production of the 71 countries that report to it edged up by 0.4% y-o-y to 151.2 mnt in Oct’24. Furthermore, production volumes rose by 5% m-o-m against 143.6 mnt in Sep’24.

• China’s output increased by 2.9% y-o-y to 81.9 mnt.
• India’s production went up by 1.7% y-o-y to 12.5 mnt.
• Japan’s production dropped by 7.8% y-o-y to 6.9 mnt.
