Major east India pellet makers supplied 41 pellet rakes in Apr’16 against 57 rakes in Mar’16.
Pellet rake movement by prominent east India pellet manufacturers has witnessed decline of 28% M-o-M in Apr’16. In Apr’16, 41 pellet rakes were supplied against 57 rakes in Mar’16.
Jindal Steel & Power supplied 28 pellet rakes in Apr’16. Out of this, 13 rakes were procured by Bhushan Steel. Arya Iron & Steel supplied 7 pellet rakes in Apr’16 against 4 rakes in Mar’16.
Sharp drop in domestic pellet movement was noticed in pellet supply of Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL). In Mar’16, the pellet maker supplied 25 rakes which declined by 76% M-o-M to only 6 rakes in Apr’16.
Exports attract east India pellet makers more over better realization and subdued domestic demand
Towards the beginning of Apr’16, Barbil pellet prices increased to INR 3,000-3,200/MT (loaded to wagons) and remained at these levels throughout the month amid limited buying interest. P-DRI prices in east India declined by around INR 1,000/MT M-o-M in Apr’16.
Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) and Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL) are actively participating in pellet exports over better realizations and subdued buying interest in domestic market.
