SAIL has invited a tender for tentative purchase of 16,500 MT HC ferro manganese for its Bhilai Steel Plant.
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is the India’s largest steelmaker and produces a variety of steel and iron products including Pig iron, flat and long products and special steels at its plants spread over India. The company will require a projected quantity of about 16,500 MT HC ferro manganese during May’16-Aug’16. The projected purchase quantity will meet the requirement of the following plants:

Chemical specifications
The material should contain Manganese 70.0% min, Carbon 7.5% max, Silicon 1.5% max, Phosphorous 0.43% max and Sulphur 0.05% max.

Eligibility criteria
1. The bidder should be indigenous ferro manganese/silico manganese manufacturer and must have annual capacity to produce 12,000 MT pa.
2. The bidder must offer a minimum quantity of 5,000 MT (both markets) to be submitted in 4 months.
3. If the bidders are the past supplier of FeMn/SiMn to SAIL, they shall be considered as eligible if they does not have a backlog of more than 10% of final ordered quantity against any purchase order placed by individual SAIL plants.
4. If the bidders has not supplied HC ferro manganese after Jan’14 to any of the SAIL’s plant, the bidder is required to submit self attested copy of PO and a consolidated statement.
Tender schedule
Due date of submission is 12 May’16 at 13:00 hrs IST and the techno-commercial opening date is 12 May’16 at 16:00 hrs IST.
