Mahindra Intertrade and MSTC join hands together; sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up India’s first auto shredding facility.
Mahindra Intertrade, an automotive steel processing company along with Metal Scrap Trading Corporation (MSTC) has taken the initiative to set India’s first of its type auto shredded unit, by signing an MoU.
Indian scrap industry was waiting from a long time for such initiative, as significant part of domestic scrap generated in India comes from automobile and white goods.
India consumes around 14-15 MnT ferrous scrap in steel making. Out of the total consumed quantity about 5-6 MnT was imported and rest (7-9 MnT) was fulfilled by domestic scrap last year.

2. Help in accountability of auto scrap generation and consumption numbers
3. Supports in recovery of various scrap other than ferrous like aluminum, plastic and rubber
