Hard coking coal prices are growing considerably from past 3 weeks. The PHCC reached at USD 100/MT, FoB this week.
Harding coking coal prices continued to elevate further this week in the worldwide coal market because of good enthusiasm among Chinese purchasers, bolstered by rising nearby steel generation.
Coking coal prices from Australia were surveyed USD 6-7/MT higher than price finished for the same review a week prior. Australian coking coal costs moved up for the present week as a result of tightened supply.
SteelMint assessed that Premium hard coking coal from Australia was opened at around USD 109-110/MT, CFR India. This likened to USD 100-101/MT, FoB Australia, portraying Panamax-size vessel from Australia to India at around USD 7-8/MT.
Further, vessels of Australian HCC were in like way heard to be available at USD 95-96/MT, CFR India. Hard coking coal costs were looked into at around USD 83-84/MT, FoB for Panamax vessel, seeing a per change of USD 3-4/MT.
Large number of inquiries were registered for further bookings of the material however, Indian buyers became bit cautious about sudden surge in the prices and decided to hold their purchase, waiting for the market to become stable.
An Indian merchant told to SteelMint, “Crude material prices are on higher note and reached USD 100/MT, FoB amidst the recent surge popularly because of demand from India & China and constrained Australian supply for the coming months. However, Indian buyers are bit cautious to trade at such high price.”
