Pellet sponge offers in central India are evaluated lowest at INR 11,000/MT (USD 165/MT); economical than prices in south region.
Low-priced sponge offers in central India than offers in south India has increased viability for west and north Indian buyers. 80 FeM P-DRI lump offers in Raipur (central India) are assessed at INR 11,000/MT. However, the same grade material is available at INR 12,000/MT ex-Bellary (south India).
In general, west Indian buyers prefer south Indian sponge. But looking at present offers, a manufacturer has reported to prefer new booking from central region, however, has received deliveries of earlier orders.
Freight charges similar from south & central to west coast: Freight from Raipur to Wada (Mumbai) is INR 1,900-2,000/MT and to Jalna is INR 1,300/MT. Similar freight is reported from Bellary to Wada at INR 1,800/MT and to Jalna at INR 1,200/MT.
