“Billet export offers from India correct over $10 this week on falling prices in international market. Options of importing cheaper billet from Taiwan and Korea has put pressure on Indian exporters”, said market traders.
“Demand has been weak at previous offers i.e. $600-610/t CFR Bangladesh and offers from Taiwan and Vietnam are around $580-590/t CFR Bangladesh. The only advantage of buying from India is the less time of delivery”, said an importer based in Dhakha Bangladesh.
We have reduced our offers to Bangladesh by around $8-10 per tonne and our offers stand at around $600/t CFR Bangladesh, said a prominent steel maker in India.
