Some Japanese aluminium buyers have reportedly agreed to a shipment premium of $175/t over the LME benchmark price for the fourth quarter of 2024 which is 1.7% higher compared to the current quarter until 30 September and represents a third consecutive quarterly increase and the highest since the Jan-Mar quarter in 2022 on supply concerns amid higher premiums in Europe.
