- Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports fell 4% y-o-y to 0.53 mnt in 9MCY’24 from 0.58 mnt in the CPLY. Additionally, exports fell 15% from 61,901 t in Aug’24 to 52,780 t in Sep’24.
- On a y-o-y basis, exports fell significantly by 45% from 95,813 t in Sep’23.
- India emerged as the top importing nation in Sep’24, acquiring 23,759 t of scrap (45% of Brazil’s total exports), followed by Bangladesh at 18,764 t (35%).
