Japan: Kanto scrap export tender for Oct’24 sees rise in bid prices as JPY depreciates

Kanto Iron and Steel Cooperative Association’s Oct’24 scrap export tender saw a notable rebound in its winning bid prices amid a weaker JPY.

• Bid prices increased by $20/t (JPY 2,960/t) to $308/t (JPY 45,680/t) FAS from $288/t (JPY 42,720/t) in Sep’24.
• Bid prices recovered after hitting low levels for two years.
