Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market climbed up by INR 300/t d-o-d on 4 Oct’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were assessed at INR 35,300/t ($420/t) exy. In yesterday’s trading session, semi-finished and finished steel prices increased by INR 100-200/t in the region. Consequently, Bhavnagar-based mills’ heightened buying interest in scrap led suppliers to hike their offers today.
