Pakistan’s thermal coal imports rise in Sep’24, South Africa remains leading supplier

Pakistan’s thermal coal imports saw a 23% m-o-m increase in Sep’24, reaching 0.70 mnt from 0.57 mnt in Aug’24. South Africa continued as the leading supplier with 0.37 mnt, while Tanzania’s volumes increased slightly to 0.17 mnt. However, imports were down 15% y-o-y compared to 0.68 mnt in Sep’23.
