Ferro silicon prices remained steady for this week, as market sources reported of steady sales.
Ferro silicon prices in Bhutan remained firm for this week as buying interest was good, reported market sources. SteelMint assessed weekly ferro silicon price at INR 62,000/MT (Ex-Bhutan).
“Our business has improved quite a bit after a prolonged weak market. We’d rather stick to the present prices and not raise our offers,” stated a Bhutan based producer.
Bhutanese producers also stated that demand in the export market continued to remain weak and the last deal was concluded at USD 920/MT FOB Kolkata.
Ferro Silicon Prices Firm on Constant Demand
Domestic prices for ferro silicon were firm, as offers remained high on healthy demand and limited spot supply.
SteelMint assessed weekly ferro silicon price at INR 60,000/MT (Ex-Guwahati). Demand has been good from the steel sector with steel mills seeing better margins, as domestic steel prices have rebounded.
SteelMint learned from market sources that prices are to remain firm for the near-term as there is steady demand.
