Pig Iron manufacturers have unchanged prices on no signs of improvement and few of the producers closed bookings as buyers lack buying interest.
“Availability of iron ore is a concern at the moment. Even if it is available after some months, only large steel plants in the country will be able to purchase it through e-auction. It will be costly on our part and miners are going to beneifit out of it.
Hence, our Pig Iron production is on hold for sometime as cost of manufacturing is much high than the selling price”, shared Mr. Dutta Gupta, GM, Marketing at Dempo Ind Pvt Ltd, Goa.
