- In Aug’24, Pakistan’s ferrous scrap imports touched 211,700 t, slightly down by 0.8% m-o-m from 213,449 t in Jul. Compared to Jul’23 (210,575 t), imports edged up by 0.5% y-o-y.
- In 8MCY’24, total scrap imports significantly surged by 47% y-o-y, totaling 1,812,544 t, compared to 1,231,130 t in Jan-Aug’23.
- The UK, the UAE, and US were the major scrap exporters to Pakistan.
