Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market dropped by INR 500/t d-o-d on 13 Sep’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices settled at INR 33,000/t ($393/t) ex-yard. Weak demand for semi-finished and finished steel, coupled with limited scrap trading, prompted suppliers to reduce their offers today. Semi-finished steel prices decreased INR 300/t during yesterday’s session, with notable bid-offer disparities seen across key markets.
