Sponge iron prices in India decreased today by INR 50-150/tonne (t). PDRI prices closed within the range of INR 23,600-25,800/t, while CDRI prices were assessed at INR 25,700-29,800/t. Approximately 5,100 t of sponge iron transactions were recorded, down from 7,300 t on 11 September.
BigMint’s weekly index for low-grade iron ore fines (Fe 57%) stood at INR 2,650 tonne/t ($32/t) ex-mines Bellary (excluding taxes), stable, w-o-w.
BigMint’s domestic end-cutting scrap index tracking the Mandi Gobindgarh market saw a price reduction of INR 300/tonne (t), settling at INR 35,900/t DAP today.
