Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) has registered a growth of 30% Y-o-Y in consolidated steel sales in FY16. The company’s sales were 4.4 MnT in FY16 compared to 3.4 MnT in FY15.
In the meantime, JSPL’s consolidated production increased by 24% to 4.5 MnT in FY16 against 3.7 MnT in the previous fiscal year.
On a stand-alone basis, the company’s steel sales in Q4 FY16 rose by 37% to 1 MnT from 0.74 MnT in Q3 FY16. While, production was 0.97 MnT against 0.78 MnT during the same duration.
The growth has been supported by gradual ramp up of company’s Angul plant, which nearly doubled its production this fiscal year from 0.46 MnT in FY15 to 0.9 MnT in FY16.
In India, total finished steel (non-alloys) sales were reported at 75.34 MnT during FY16 (Apr’15-Feb’16) in contrast to 81.36 MnT in FY15.
