Pakistan’s ferrous scrap imports fall by 3% m-o-m in Jul’24

In Jul’24, Pakistan’s ferrous scrap imports touched 210,786 t, down 3% m-o-m from 216,809 t in Jun’24. Compared to Jul’23 (181,178 t), imports surged by 16% y-o-y.
In 7MCY’24, total scrap imports surged by 56% y-o-y, totalling 1,590,685 t, compared to 1,020,555 t in Jan-Jul’23.
The UK, the UAE, and other EU and Middle Eastern countries were the major scrap exporters to Pakistan.
