Japanese EAF manufacturers in Kanto cut scrap prices; H2 hits 2-year low

Japan Metal Daily: EAF manufacturers in Japan’s Kanto reduced scrap prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t), pushing H2 prices below JPY 45,000/t ($310/t) for the first time in two years. Prices at Tokyo Steel’s Tahara, Kyushu, Kansai, and Okayama plants stood at JPY 45,500/t ($311/t), while those at Nagoya, Takamatsu, and Utsunomiya were at JPY 44,500/t ($305/t). The cuts will help manage high inventory and scrap imports.
