South Africa: Iron ore exports rise over 40% m-o-m in Aug’24

South Africa’s iron ore exports rose by 41% m-o-m to 4.91 mnt in Aug’24 compared to 3.47 mnt in Jul, as per vessel line-up data maintained by BigMint.
China was the largest importer (1.80 mnt) followed by the Netherlands (0.92 mnt).
Kumba mines was the leading exporter at 2.55 mnt, an increase of 83% m-o-m, followed by Assmang at 1.18 mnt.
