China: Steel billet prices edge up RMB 10/t ($1/t) d-o-d

Billet prices in Tangshan inched up d-o-d by RMB 10/t ($1/t) to RMB 2,990/t ($419/t) on 28 Aug’24. Prices include 13% VAT.
Billet price is supported by hike in raw material, finished steel prices and rebar futures along with improved demand leading to decline in inventories.
Meanwhile, SHFE rebar futures (Oct’24 delivery) increased d-o-d by RMB 15/t ($2/t) to RMB 3,264/t ($458/t) on 28 Aug’24.
