World crude steel production falls by 4.7% y-o-y in Jul’24: WSA

The World Steel Association (WSA) has reported that crude steel production for the 71 countries fell by 4.7% y-o-y to 152.8 mnt in Jul’24. Moreover, production volumes dipped by 5% m-o-m against 161.4 mnt in Jun’24.

• China’s output declined by 9% y-o-y to 82.9 mnt.
• India’s production rose by 6.8% y-o-y to 12.3 mnt.
• Japan’s production dropped by 3.8% y-o-y to 7.1 mnt.
