The Madhya Pradesh has granted mining lease under Ukwa Mine of the company.
The Madhya Pradesh government has granted mining lease spread across 48.974 hectare in village Lugma, Tehsil Paraswada of Balaghat District in the state of Madhya Pradesh in favour of MOIL.
The aforesaid area for which the mining lease has been granted fall under Ukwa Mine of the company.
MOIL recorded a jump of 9.90% in its core production (i.e. ferro and silico grade of manganese ore, excluding fines) in FY15. The core production stands at 0.98 MnT in FY15 as against 0.89 MnT during FY14. Production of all grades of manganese
ores has increased slightly from 1.13 MnT in FY14 to 1.14 MnT in comparison to the previous fiscal year.
In addition to the long pending lease of the Ukwa mine the issue of forest clearance in respect of an area of 37.82 hectares at Kandri mine has been resolved and NoC has been obtained from Ministry of Environment and Forest. This will help to sustain and develop Kandri mine in coming years.
MOIL has added about 5.98 million tonnes resources and with about 77.38 million tonnes of reserves and resources of manganese ore. Moreover, MOIL has planned to enhance its production from present level of around 1.14 MnT to 2.0 MnT by 2020 and 3.0 MnT by 2030 for which strategic management plan has already been prepared.
