Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market inched up by INR 100/t d-o-d on 16 Aug’24, as per BigMint’s assessment. HMS (80:20) prices were at INR 33,500/t ($399/t) exy. Moderate demand for semis and finished steel was seen in the market during yesterday’s trading session. Decent buying inquiries for scrap from Bhavnagar-based mills prompted suppliers to raise their offers today.
