Nabha Power Issues Tender for Supply of 600,000 MT Imported Coal-Update

Nabha Power Limited (NPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T Power Development Limited has invited a tender for long term supply of upto 600,000 MT imported coal (GAR 6,300) for a period of 4 months starting  15th May’16 to 14th Aug’16.

The company has set up a 1,400 MWT coal based Supercritical Technology at its Thermal Power Plant at Rajura, Punjab. The thermal plant have two units each of 700 MWTin commercial operations. So, for the above mentioned thermal power plants, the company has invited a tender for interested suppliers to supply imported coal to NPL. The imported coal to be supplied to NPL will be on “delivered to plant basis”.

Minimum quantity to be supplied by the interested bidder shall be 1.2 MT for the period between 15th May’16 to 14 th Aug’16 uniformly distributed with weekly delivery schedule as specified in the tender document. Bids offering quantity lower than the minimum may be rejected.

Product Specification

  1.  Total Moisture (ARB):  12%
  2.  Ash (ARB):  20%
  3. GCV:  6,300kcal/kg

Interested suppliers who are willing to sign contract with NPL shall submit their bids in INR/MT and can submit their quotations before 21 Mar’16.

Meanwhile, in Dec’15, the company had monthly coal requisition of around 0.32 MnT. However, the entire quantity required is been sourced domestically from SECL (South Eastern Coalfield limited). The company didn’t imported any of the material from any other destination.
