The company is planning to export ASTM A36, EN 10025, S235,S275JR or equivalent grade of HR Plates through its global tender.
In first week of March 2016, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has issued a global tender in order to export prime mild steel hot rolled plates. The material will be of ASTM A36 grade or equivalent, ship building quality with size ranging between 10-63 mm. Bids will open on 16 Mar’16.
Prices should be quoted on FoB Vizag basis. Also, on closure of deal with the concerned party, the shipping of the material will commence from 31 May’16. Prices are to be quoted per MT basis for all the markets other than Nepal, Canada and Taiwan.
Indian plates prices of base size 16-20 mm are currently assessed at INR 28,000 (ex-works basis). However, prices are likely to increase by INR 750-1,000/MT in the upcoming week. Post MIP, plates can be imported in to India only at and above USD 500/MT.
