Bhubaneswar: Encourage with the response of the recently held Ghoraburhani Sagasahi iron ore block auction the Odisha government is planning to put another 2-3 iron ore blocks for auction in the next 4-6 months.
“ The response to the only Iron ore block auction has been encouraging. We are planning to put another 2-3 iron ore blocks in the next 4-6 months for auction. But, all the iron ore blocks we have identified are of G3 level of exploration as per the United Nations Framework Convention (UNFC) norms. So we are trying to upgrade these to G2 level, which will ensure higher return for us” said Deepak Mohanty, Director if Mines, Odisha.
He added that the state government will once again pursue the central government to allow auction of G3 level blocks, which will earlier, the central government has turned down a similar request.
