As per Japan Metal Daily, Negotiations between a Kanto aluminium manufacturer and a raw material wholesaler cut scrap prices by JPY 35/kg. As a result, prices reached to April levels. High-quality items saw the largest reductions as ingot prices fell to JPY 397-408 in early August from JPY 450 in mid-July. Tight supply and reduced availability from extreme heat and vacations may lead to further price drops.
