NMDC, India’s single largest iron ore miner has produced 25.04 MnT in this fiscal by Feb’16. Iron ore sales amounted to a total of 25.86 MnT in the same period.
Out of the total production, 14.55 MnT iron ore was produced from its Chhattisgarh Bailadila mines and 10.49 MnT was produced from its mines in Karnataka (Donimalai and Kumaraswamy).
Iron ore sales from NMDC Chhattisgarh mines summed up to 14.63 MnT and sales from its Karnataka mines stood at 11.23 MnT.
NMDC iron ore production down by 10% Y-o-Y
In the same period last fiscal (i.e. Apr’14-Feb’15), NMDC produced 27.82 MnT iron ore. Hence, iron ore production in this fiscal is down by 10% Y-o-Y.
Comparing the sales figures, NMDC iron ore sales were recorded at 27.26 MnT in same period last fiscal which has dropped by 5% to 25.86 MnT in FY16.
