China: Iron ore spot prices edge up after recent drop this week

Iron ore fines (Fe 62%) spot prices inched up by $0.45/t d-o-d to $100.85/t CFR China on 24 Jul’24 as trading activity picked up during the day. As per report, September cargoes have the potential to fetch higher prices following the recent trading activity. Chinese domestic iron ore prices remained range-bound as maintenance of blast furnaces in certain steel mills has begun which led to changes in overall iron ore usage.
