The World Stainless Association (WSA) has disclosed its Q1CY’24 production data. Global stainless steel production surged to 14.6 mnt, marking a 5.5% y-o-y increase. However, Q1CY’23 observed a 1.3% q-o-q decline to 13.82 mnt. China dominated as the leading producer with 8.59 mnt in Q1CY’24, boasting a significant 2.1% rise from Q1CY’23. Additionally, Asia, excluding China and South Korea, encountered a 12.9% y-o-y increase, reaching 1.84 mnt.
